Here's some help.
Laughlin is located in the southeastern most
corner of Clark County, Nevada, bordering Arizona and California.
Laughlin is a growing gaming community, which lies on the banks of
the Colorado River. Laughlin's economic structure is mainly our
resort hotels and casinos, Mohave Electric Generating Station and
Davis Dam's hydroelectric facility.
To work in a gaming establishment in Nevada you
will need to obtain a few things first. Once you have been hired
your place of employment will send you to obtain a Sheriff’s Card or
Work Card, Health Card and TAM card (you must obtain a referral from
your employer before you can apply for these cards.). Everyone who
works in any gaming establishment must obtain a Sheriffs card and
this registers you with the Clark County Metropolitan Police
Department. If you will be handling food or alcohol you must also
obtain a Health Card, which teaches you proper food handling
techniques, and they also test you for TB. If you will be working
with alcohol you will also need to obtain a TAM card, which is an
alcohol awareness card, and they teach you the proper way to handle
alcohol and customers.

Hours for new cards, renewals and duplicates are 8:00 a.m. to
11:45 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. closed 12:00 p.m. to 1:00
p.m. (No appointments are available and it works on a first come
first serve basis.)
Health Card
This class is held at the River Palms Hotel. The casino you
are hired by will inform you of the class dates and time. If you have any

as Las Vegas since our school district is part of the Clark County
School district. William G. Bennett Elementary School opened in
1986, home to the Bennett Bobcats and covers grades kindergarten
through fifth grade. Laughlin Junior / Senior High School was opened
in 1991, home of the Laughlin Cougars and covers grades six through
twelve. Community College of Southern Nevada offers a variety of
courses and offers students 63 years of age and older tuition free
courses.

In 1994 Clark county opened the largest rural Library in Clark
County. Spirit Mountain Activity Center was opened in 1996 and
provides space for our Seniors Center, Boys and Girls Club, Parks
and recreation and The Family Resource Center. The Community
Resource Center on Civic Way was opened in 1993 and it provides
space for a number of government and non-profit organizations.
