Local Information
Nevada's "Glitter
Gulch" is not all there is to see in Nevada.
Here are links to non-gaming Laughlin and
Nevada. Get away from the casinos and discover
another side of Nevada, the "Silver State".
Laughlin Nevada is much more beautiful than neon lights
and gambling action.
Many people who visit
Laughlin, never really get to see the Township
of Laughlin Nevada. The town is located 5 miles west of
the casinos, out Desert Rd (renamed Woodbury
Dr). This is where approx. 8,000 residents live.
I'd guess half of us work at the
casinos and the other half is comprised of
Retirees and Snowbirds. In the "residential
area" you'll find the Post Office (89028),
Nevada's largest rural
Library, Bennett Elementary School, Laughlin
Middle and High School, Spirit Mountain Park,
home to Laughlin Seniors, Boy's and Girl's Club
and Clark County Parks & Rec., Fire Dept, a
Bank, a market (open 24/7), three bars, 4
restaurants, 9
large apt/condos, 4 housing
tracts, video store, Texaco and Mobil Oil
Convenience Stores, Laughlin Times Newspaper,
H.R. Block/computer supplies, 2 Dry Cleaners,
2 Beauty Parlors, Water Store,
Professional Office
Building (behind the Texaco) and a bunch of
realtor offices and check cashing places. A
local business directory with phone
numbers is provided. The only local medical
services are at the UMC Medical Clinic next to the Mall, near the corner of
Edison Dr and Casino Dr.. Gee...I almost forgot Domino's Pizza, In-n-Out and a
Subway Sandwich Shop.
