Lake Tahoe - Stateline, Nevada
Winter in Lake Tahoe fills both locals and
visitors with wonder! Snow capped mountains soar to the bluest of
skies while a deep blue lake glistens below.
South Shore's Mountain Ski
Resorts offer lake views and some of the deepest snow in the
country. From beginner slopes to world-renowned steeps, Heavenly,
Kirkwood and Sierra ski resorts have distinct personalities. To learn about the newest resort enhancements for Winter
2006-07, click here.
Families with both beginner or more seasoned boarders and skiers
find plenty to do in the winter on South Shore. Options include
Heavenly's night-time terrain park, Kirkwood's Timber Creek day
facility and expanded Burton Learn-to-Ride center for beginners
along with the only cat-skiing operation on the South Shore for the
more experienced skiers. Or families can enjoy Sierra-at-Tahoe's
Burton Progression Park featuring boxes, jumps and rails only inches
from the ground.
Deerfield Lodge at Heavenly, South Shore's newest boutique hotel
nestled amongst the pines and the mountains, opened this past
August. The newest casino on Blue Avenue this winter is
MontBleu
Resort Casino and Spa with 440-rooms, seven distinct restaurant,
four separate and unique nightlife venues and much more.
Winter Season also brings some of the finest (and most fun!) events
and festivals of the year. Experience Tahoe's own Adventure Film
Festival December 15 and 16 at the MontBleu Showroom. And, from Jan
24-28 South Shore hosts the Gay and Lesbian Ski Week (formerly
Ascent).
