AGGRAVATED DUI – DESERT HILLS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Tarek Richard Schoner, 40, of Lake
Havasu City, late Wednesday (8/31) afternoon for aggravated DUI, a felony.
Approximately 4:10 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of London
Bridge Road and Kirk Drive, and contacted Schoner, the driver. Deputies smelled
an odor of alcohol on Schoner. During conversations with Schoner, he admitted to
having been drinking. A record check revealed Schoner to have a suspended
driver’s license out of Iowa for a prior DUI. Following the field sobriety tests
(FST’s), Schoner was taken into custody and transported to the Mohave County
District III Substation where an analysis revealed his blood alcohol
concentration (BAC) to be .086%. He was booked into the jail without incident.
DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Gilbert Calderon Macias Jr., 31, of
Kingman, early Tuesday (8/30) afternoon for possession of drug paraphernalia, a
felony, and a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear issued by Kingman
Justice Court on original charges of possession of marijuana. Approximately 1:35
p.m., detectives responded to the intersection of Highway 66 and Mohave Airport
Drive regarding a male subject possibly hurt and lying at the southeast corner.
Detectives contacted the male subject, identified as Macias. During
conversations with Macias, he said that he was waiting for a friend to pick him
up. A record check showed Macias to have an outstanding warrant. Further
conversations with Macias, he said that he had a syringe on him. Macias was
taken into custody, transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without
incident.
DUI – MOHAVE VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Kitty Ann Newman, 40, of Golden
Valley, Tuesday (8/30) evening for DUI and DUI with a blood alcohol
concentration over .08%, misdemeanors. Approximately 8:25 p.m., deputies
responded to the area of Cotton Road and Kingman Road regarding a Chrysler Van
persistently driving around the area. Deputies located the vehicle pulling into
a residence in the 1900 block of Arditto Place. Deputies approached the vehicle
and observed a female driver and an open bottle of beer. Deputies contacted the
female driver, identified as Newman. Deputies observed numerous bottles of beer
on the back seat floor. Deputies smelled an odor of alcohol on Newman. During
conversations with Newman, she admitted to have been drinking. Following the
field sobriety tests (FST’s), Newman was taken into custody and transported to
the Mohave County District II Substation where an analysis revealed her blood
alcohol concentration (BAC) to be .102%. She was booked into the jail without
incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Duane Stuart Daman, 18, of Fort
Mohave, Monday (8/29) afternoon on three counts of possession of drug
paraphernalia, felonies, and disorderly conduct/domestic violence, a
misdemeanor. Approximately 3:23 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance in the
5700 block of Loop Lane and contacted the 19-year-old female victim. The victim
reported that her boyfriend, Daman, became argumentative and started throwing
things around in the bedroom. Deputies contacted Daman. During conversations
with Daman, he said that they were arguing. Daman was taken into custody.
Deputies observed a marijuana pipe in the bedroom. Deputies located a plastic
pipe and scale in the bedroom closet. Further conversations with Daman, he said
the items belonged to him. Daman was transported and booked into the Mohave
County District II Substation without incident.
WARRANT ARREST – MOHAVE VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Christopher M. Berg, 29, of Mohave
Valley, Friday (8/26) evening on a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear
issued by Bullhead City Justice Court. Deputies observed Berg walking down the
street on Oak Tree Drive. Deputies knew Berg to have an outstanding warrant.
Approximately 7:45 p.m., deputies contacted Berg. A record check on Berg
confirmed the warrant. Berg was taken into custody, transported and booked into
the Mohave County District II Substation without incident.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Thomas Dean Olsen, 26, of Fort Mohave,
early Sunday (8/28) evening for assault/domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
Approximately 5:47 p.m., deputies responded to a disturbance in the 1800 block
of Clubhouse Way and contacted Olsen. During conversations with Olsen, he said
that he and his girlfriend got into an argument and that she hit her head on the
door. Olsen further said that she left the residence. Deputies contacted Olsen’s
girlfriend, a 25-year-old female victim, in the 1700 block of Boundary Cone
Road. The victim reported that Olsen hit her in the forehead. Fort Mohave Fire
Department responded and treated the victim. Deputies contacted a witness and
confirmed the victims’ statements. Deputies took Olsen into custody at his
residence in the 1800 block of Clubhouse Way. Olsen was transported and booked
into the Mohave County District II Substation without incident.
WARRANT ARREST – BEAVER DAM (ARIZONA STRIP)
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert Eugene Bill, 40, of Beaver Dam,
Thursday (8/25) afternoon on a misdemeanor warrant for interfering with judicial
proceedings issued out of Moccasin Justice Court. Approximately 3:30 p.m.,
deputies contacted Bill in the 600 block of Ironwood Road regarding his
outstanding warrants. Bill was taken into custody without incident. Bill was
transported and booked into the Mesquite Jail.
RESISTING ARREST – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Heath Leon Shildmyer, 33, of
Kingman, Friday (8/26) afternoon for resisting arrest, a felony, and warrants.
Approximately 3:40 p.m., detectives observed Shildmyer in a business parking lot
located in the 3800 block of Andy Devine Avenue. Detectives knew Shildmyer to
have outstanding warrants. Detectives approached Shildmyer and informed him that
he was being arrested for the warrants. As detectives were taking Shildmyer into
custody, he pulled away and took off running in the parking lot. Detectives
followed after him and Shildmyer continued to struggle as detectives
administered pepper spray. Shildmyer was taken into custody without further
incident. A record check confirmed Shildmyer to have a felony warrant for
failure to appear and a misdemeanor warrant for interfering with judicial
proceedings, both issued by Kingman Justice Court. Kingman Fire Department
responded and treated Shildmyer. Kingman Police Department responded and
transported Shildmyer to the Mohave County Jail where he was booked.
DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Scott Joseph Danca, 26, of Bullhead
City, early Saturday (8/26) evening for possession of drug paraphernalia, a
felony, and shoplifting, a misdemeanor. Approximately 6:43 p.m., deputies
responded to a theft at a business located in the 4600 block of Highway 95.
Deputies were informed that the male suspect was running on Aztec Road with
subject’s following after him. When deputies arrived, they observed a group of
people who had a male subject lying on the ground, who was later identified as
Danca. Deputies contacted one of the subjects at the scene which was an employee
of the business where Danca had taken an item. The employee/victim reported that
Danca ran out of the store without paying for the item. Deputies observed the
item lying on the ground near Danca. Danca was taken into custody without
incident. A search of Danca revealed a syringe with residue inside. During
conversations with Danca, he admitted to taking the item without paying for it.
A record check showed Danca to have a felony warrant for probation violation
issued by Mohave County Superior Court. Danca was transported and booked into
the Mohave County District II Substation.
WARRANT ARREST – MOHAVE VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Martin Joseph Brown, 45, of Mohave
Valley, Friday (8/26) evening on a felony warrant for failure to appear issued
by Mohave County Superior Court. At approximately 10:30 p.m., deputies contacted
Brown at a residence in the 1800 block of Rockerfeller Road regarding his
outstanding warrant. Brown was taken into custody without incident. Brown was
transported and booked into the Mohave County District II Substation.
DUI – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jeremy Bond Cooper, 34, of Bullhead
City, early Saturday (8/27) morning for DUI and DUI with a blood alcohol
concentration over .08%, misdemeanors. Approximately 1:43 a.m., deputies
conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Aztec Drive and contacted Cooper,
the driver. Deputies smelled an odor of alcohol on Cooper. During conversations
with Cooper, he admitted to have been drinking. A record check showed Cooper’s
driver’s license to have been suspended. Cooper was taken into custody and
transported to the Mohave County District II Substation where an analysis
revealed his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) to be .148%. He was booked into
the jail without incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
DRUGS – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Christina Jo Peel, 23, of Kingman,
early Saturday (8/27) morning for possession of dangerous drugs, a felony, and a
misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear issued by Kingman Municipal Court.
Deputies observed a blue 1969 Ford pick-up truck fail to stop at a stop sign.
Approximately 2:09 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2800 of Hearne
Avenue and contacted the driver, Richard Neil Douglas Jr., 22, of Kingman.
Douglas could not provide deputies with proof of insurance and current vehicle
registration. Douglas was cited for no insurance, no current registration and
failure to stop at a stop sign. Deputies contacted passenger, Peel. A record
check showed Peel to have an outstanding warrant. A search revealed Peel to be
in possession of a plastic bag containing a substance which field tested
positive for methamphetamine. Peel was transported and booked into the Mohave
County Jail without incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT/RESISTING ARREST– KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert Bruce Heal, 32, of Kingman,
early Saturday (8/27) morning for aggravated assault on law enforcement office,
resisting arrest, disorderly conduct/domestic violence, felonies, and two
warrants. Approximately 2:45 a.m., deputies responded to a disturbance in the
3800 of Butler Avenue. Upon deputy’s arrival, they heard a male subject, later
identified as Heal, yelling at a female subject. Deputies contacted Heal and
attempted to detain him. Heal resisted orders and would not comply with their
commands. During the struggle, Heal hit a deputy in the mouth. Deputies further
restrained Heal. A record check showed Heal to have a fugitive from justice
felony warrant issued out of Shasta County in California and a misdemeanor
warrant for interfering with judicial proceedings issued by Kingman Justice
Court. Heal was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without
further incident.
DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – MOHAVE VALLEY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Travis Jacob Smith, 31, of Fort
Mohave, early Saturday (8/27) evening for possession of drug paraphernalia, a
felony, and a misdemeanor warrant for assault/domestic violence and disorderly
conduct/domestic violence issued by Bullhead City Justice Court. Approximately
6:45 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Laguna Road and Aquarius Drive
for not having a front windshield. Deputies contacted Smith, the driver. A
record check showed Smith to have an outstanding warrant. Smith was taken into
custody without incident. A search of Smith revealed a pipe with marijuana
residue. Smith was transported and booked into the Mohave County District II
Substation. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
DRUGS – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Shawn Tracey Robson, 33, of Fort
Mohave, early Thursday (8/25) evening for possession of marijuana, a felony.
Approximately 5:36 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop at Corona Drive, west
of Highway 95, and contacted Robson, the driver. A search of Robson revealed a
plastic bag containing marijuana. Robson was taken into custody. Robson was
transported and booked into the Mohave County District II Substation without
incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
HIT & RUN INJURY ACCIDENT UPDATE - KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies is no longer looking for the male subject and
his Ford Explorer which was involved in a hit and run accident Friday (8/19)
evening. Please see MCSO Press Release dated 8-22-05. The male subject contacted
the Sheriff’s Department early this week. This case is under investigation.
WARRANT ARREST – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Franklin Michael Walema Jr., 28, of
Kingman, Tuesday (8/23) afternoon on a felony warrant for probation violation
issued by Mohave County Superior Court on original charges of aggravated DUI.
Approximately 3:20 p.m., detectives conducted a traffic stop in the 2600 block
of Ames Avenue and contacted Walema, the driver. A record check showed Walema to
have an outstanding warrant. Walema was taken into custody without incident.
Walema was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
HOAX – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert Michael Munsil, 30, of Kingman,
early Wednesday (8/24) morning for knowingly giving false impression-hoax, a
felony. Approximately 12:14 a.m., deputies responded to a bomb threat at a
business located at Interstate 40 and Griffith Road. Deputies contacted the
reporting party/employee which later became the suspect. The reporting party
said that he received a phone call at 12:00 a.m. regarding a bomb on the
property. Deputies immediately examined the grounds. During the investigation,
deputies determined the incoming phone call never took place in the time frame
the reporting party indicated. Further conversations with the reporting party,
identified as Munsil, he said that the bomb threat was a hoax because he must
have dreamed it. Munsil was taken into custody without incident. Munsil was
transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
DRUGS/DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Michael Duane Bauer, 29, of Laughlin,
Nevada, early Tuesday (8/23) afternoon for possession of dangerous drugs,
possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies, and a misdemeanor warrant for
failure to appear issued by Bullhead City Municipal Court. Approximately 1:00
p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 40 at milepost 7 and
contacted Bauer, the driver. During conversations with Bauer, he said that he
has an outstanding warrant. Deputies verified the warrant and took Bauer into
custody without incident. A K-9 unit responded to the scene. The K-9 alerted his
handler to the console area on the passenger side of the vehicle. Deputies
located a glass pipe and plastic bags containing a white substance which later
field tested positive for methamphetamine. Approximately 5 grams of
methamphetamine was confiscated. Bauer was transported and booked into the
Mohave County District II Substation. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
DRUGS – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Tamara Mae Pilkington, 40, of Kingman,
Tuesday (8/23) evening for possession of dangerous drugs, a felony, and a
misdemeanor warrant for interfering with judicial proceedings issued by Kingman
Justice Court. Approximately 10:00 p.m., deputies observed a parked vehicle
facing southbound on Bank Street, with a woman standing near the driver’s door,
approximately 100 yards from the intersection of Jagerson Avenue and Bank
Street. Deputies contacted the women identified as Pilkington. A computer check
on the Ford pickup truck showed the registration expired in 2004. The vehicle
had a 2005 sticker affixed to the license plate. A record check showed
Pilkington to have an outstanding warrant. Deputies got consent to search the
vehicle. The search revealed a plastic bag containing a white crystalline
substance between the passenger and the bench seat. Pilkington was taken into
custody, transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
INJURY BOAT ACCIDENT – LAKE HAVASU CITY
Mohave County Sheriff’s Waterways deputies responded to an accident inside the
wake area at Site 6 on Lake Havasu Saturday (8/20) evening. Approximately 7:03
p.m., deputies responded to the scene of where a 19-foot boat ran over a person
on a Sea-Doo. The operator of the boat, identified as Amy Lynn Quintana, 29, of
Moriarty, New Mexico, dropped her husband off at the dock, turned the boat
around and floored it. The boat ran over Steven Lee Thornton, 36, of California,
the operator of the Sea-Doo. Many people from the shore assisted the victim
while emergency personnel arrived. The victim suffered from propeller injuries.
River Medical Ambulance responded and transported the victim to Lake Havasu City
Regional Medical where he is currently in fair to good condition. Investigations
had determined alcohol to be a factor. Charges are pending investigation.
SEARCH WARRANT – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s detectives arrested Bill Burhan Hanes, 37, of Kingman,
early Monday (8/22) afternoon for theft, fraudulent schemes and fraudulent use
of credit card, felonies. The Sheriff’s Office along with Kingman Police
Department has been investigating numerous incidents involving fraudulent credit
cards and debit cards. Approximately 11:30 a.m., Mohave County Sheriff’s Office
Detectives assisted by Kingman Police Department Detectives executed a search
warrant in the 2000 block of Wikieup Avenue and in the 4400 block of N Roosevelt
Avenue. The search revealed purchased items using reported unauthorized use of
victims’ credit cards and debit cards. Detectives contacted Hanes at the 2000
block of Wikieup Avenue. During conversations with Hanes, he admitted to
purchasing items using the fraudulent credit cards and debit cards. Hanes was
taken into custody, transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without
incident.
AGGRAVATED DUI – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Walter Wilson Chamberlain, 46, of
Kingman, Monday (8/22) evening for aggravated DUI, a felony, and driving with
suspended driver’s license, a misdemeanor. Approximately 8:54 p.m., deputies
conducted a traffic stop on Northern Avenue at N Willow Street and contacted
Chamberlain, the driver. Deputies smelled an odor of alcohol on Chamberlain.
During conversations with Chamberlain, he admitted to having been drinking
earlier. Following the field sobriety tests (FST’s), Chamberlain was taken into
custody and transported to the Mohave County Jail where he refused to take the
blood alcohol concentration (BAC) test. A record check revealed Chamberlain to
have a suspended driver’s license for a prior DUI. He was booked into the jail
without incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jeremiah Ray Rodgers, 26, of Saugus,
Calif., Monday (8/22) evening for possession of drug paraphernalia, a felony.
Deputies observed a red Honda Civic traveling on Aztec Drive without a license
plate. Approximately 9:20 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1600
block of Aztec Drive and contacted the driver, Rodgers. A record check showed
Rodgers to have a suspended driver’s license. During conversations with Rodgers,
he admitted to having a pipe in the glove box. Rodgers was taken into custody.
Deputies located and confiscated the glass pipe from inside the glove box.
Rodgers was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident.
The vehicle was released to a friend of Rodgers.
DRUGS – FORT MOHAVE
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jose Antonio Halleland, 25, of
Bullhead City, early Tuesday (8/23) morning for possession of marijuana, a
felony, and driving with suspended driver’s license, a misdemeanor.
Approximately 9:20 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 1998 Chevrolet
Malibu for changing lanes without signaling which caused other vehicles to apply
their brakes to avoid hitting the Malibu. Deputies contacted the driver,
Halleland, at Highway 95 and Joy Lane. A record check showed Halleland to have a
suspended driver’s license. Halleland was taken into custody. A search of the
vehicle revealed a plastic bag containing marijuana. Halleland was transported
and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident. The vehicle was towed
from the scene. Halleland was issued a warning for failure to signal and for the
unsafe lane change.
HIT & RUN INJURY ACCIDENT - KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an injury accident in the 2500
block of Thompson Avenue Friday (8/19) evening. Approximately 10:13 p.m.
deputies responded to the scene of a hit and run accident. The victim,
identified as Thomas Michael Paine, 22, of Kingman, was riding his bicycle, when
a vehicle hit him and the vehicle continued without stopping. Medical responded
and transported the victim the Kingman Regional Medical Center. The victim was
later transported to University Medical Center in Las Vegas and is listed in
critical condition. Deputies contacted the reporting party. The reporting party
said that he and Paine were riding their bicycles west on Thompson Avenue when
they exchanged words with a passing vehicle which was traveling east on Thompson
Avenue. The passing vehicle stopped and a male subject confronted them. A short
time later, the male subject got back into his vehicle and continued east on
Thompson Avenue. The vehicle traveled a short distance and turned around, going
west in their direction. The reporting said that he was riding his bicycle
approximately 20 yards ahead of the victim when he heard a loud crashing noise
and observed the victim on the side of the road, bleeding. The vehicle is
described as a black, late 1990’s Ford Explorer and the driver, a white male,
late 20’s, with a goatee. This Ford Explorer may have damage to the left front
bumper. Anyone with any information regarding this Ford Explorer or the male

INJURY ACCIDENT – KINGMAN
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies investigated a traffic accident that occurred
in a field off of Mallard Drive and N Castle Rock Road Friday (8/19) evening. At
about 10:13 p.m. deputies responded to the scene where a 2003 Kawasaki
motorcycle traveling westbound on Mallard Drive at a high rate of speed failed
to stop at the stop sign at N Castle Rock Road. The motorcycle continued through
the intersection and went into a field where the operator lost control. The
single occupant and driver, Laveen Miller, 34, of Kingman, was transported to
Kingman Regional Medical Center by River Medical and is listed in stable
condition as of Monday (8/22) afternoon. The motorcycle was towed from the
scene. The accident is under investigation.
DRUGS – LAKE HAVASU CITY
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Rosemary Ann Friend, 39, of Lake
Havasu City on Friday (8/19) afternoon for possession of marijuana and
possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors. At approximately 12:00 p.m.,
deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Mesquite Bay and contacted
Friend. A record check showed Friend to have a misdemeanor warrant for contempt
of court issued by Lake Havasu City Justice Court. A search prior to arrest
revealed Friend to be in possession of a plastic bag containing marijuana
located inside her purse. Friend was taken into custody without incident. Friend
was transported and booked into the Mohave County District III Sub-station.
WEAPON OFFENSE – DOLAN SPRINGS
Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Douglas Jay Kloepfer, 43, of Dolan
Springs on Friday (8/19) evening for disorderly conduct with a weapon, a felony.
At about 9:00 p.m., deputies contacted the 47 year-old male victim who reported
that during a verbal altercation, Kloepfer pointed a handgun at him. The victim
stated that he left the residence to call the sheriff’s office. Deputies spoke
with a witness who confirmed the incident. Deputies responded to a residence in
the 6900 block of Concho Drive and contacted Kloepfer. A record check showed
Kloepfer to have a felony warrant for failure to appear issued by Kingman
Municipal Court, a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear issued by Kingman
Justice Court and a misdemeanor warrant for contempt of court issued by Kingman
Justice Court. Kloepfer was taken into custody without incident. While speaking
with deputies, Kloepfer denied possessing a handgun. Kloepfer was transported
and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
